Assessment and nedical history
Please allow at least one hour for the initial consultation.
The medical history is taken according to the diagnostic methods of Classical Chinese Medicine, including interview, pulse and tongue diagnosis, and physical examination.
Homeopathic repertorization, dark-field microscopy, and review of your personal medical records are additional tools we use to determine the diagnosis and select the appropriate therapy.
The five elements and their transformation phases
All phenomena on earth that influence humans and nature were classified in China as different states or transformation phases of the five elements:
Wood – Fire – Earth – Metal – Water
The five elements and their two fundamental cycles in Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) express the idea that all organs and all possible ailments and symptoms are interconnected within a functional cycle.
In complex diseases with multiple symptoms, this perspective allows different complaints to be linked to a single underlying cause, so that treatment can target the root cause rather than just the symptoms.
Yin & Yang
The concept of Yin & Yang is one of the oldest and most important principles in Chinese medicine, remaining highly relevant today. It provides explanations for physiology, pathology, and treatment approaches in TCM.
Yin & Yang describe processes both on a rational level and within the philosophical understanding of the cosmos and life. It explains mutual relationships and influences, illustrating the fundamental mechanisms of duality.
Each meridian has an internal and external pathway, and every Yang meridian has a corresponding Yin meridian, and vice versa.
Each Yang meridian can be influenced through points on its corresponding Yin meridian, and vice versa.
All of these teachings help in making the correct diagnosis, identifying the appropriate acupuncture points, and developing the most effective herbal therapy for a patient.
Dark-field diagnostics is a special form of examination in which a small drop of capillary blood is taken from the patient’s earlobe.
The blood can then be observed over an extended period under a dark-field microscope.
In dark-field microscopy, everything present in the blood becomes visible, including particles, substances, waste products, cell fragments, fungi, viruses, and changes in the immune system.
Using the dark-field microscope, we can actually observe the microcosm of living, active blood.
This allows us to detect phenomena that are otherwise invisible, providing insights into existing conditions as well as tendencies for diseases that may develop in the future.
The Five-element diet of traditional chinese medicine emphasizes addressing the individual needs of the body, taking into account the current health situation.
